WHAAAAAT? That’s right guys. So basically, on TUESDAY, JULY 26TH our new record Vacation comes out. Our plan was to post something on our twitter or facebook or foursquare or friendster or whatever the day of the release to let people know that we were playing a free show in a friend’s backyard. Alex from the Cans’ backyard to be specific. I called Joe Ahearn from Silent Barn to see if there were any other rad outdoor spaces we could do a show. To my surprise, the usually jovial buddy of mine was downtrodden. This is because Silent Barn had just been robbed. And to be honest, he was still pretty damn friendly when we spoke.
So, we decided that instead of doing something entirely self-serving for our record release, we should do something only KINDA self-serving. TUESDAY AT BABY CASTLES (285 KENT AVE IN BROOKLYN) WE WILL BE PLAYING A NO LONGER SECRET SHOW TO BENEFIT OUR BUDS AT SILENT BARN! In the spirit of our relationship with Silent Barn, this show will be DONATION ONLY! Boy do we love those guys. So if you’re doing well this summer, come by and give ‘em some cash. If not, come by anyway and say hello. Our touring friends THE SIDEKICKS will be there too. We also have some surpriiiiise special guests starting early, so get there at 8 PM and let’s have a great time!!
